From Toronto to Krakow with love

From Toronto to Krakow is exactly 7000 and 1 km!

But what is distance (even one so big!) for love?!?

Our amazing journey with Eva and Ian started almost 2 years ago with a venue search. Krakow was always THE destination for them. When I asked about their wedding budget I got my favorite answer: ‘surprise us’!

After viewings (that took place on Valentines Day – how romantic is that!) there was really only one winner: Hotel Stary.
Eva fell in love with the newlywed apartment and Ian just loved the bar☺. And that’s how it all started…

From the beginning Eva & Ian had a clear vision of what they wanted: stylish, classy, elegant and simply the best. They had chosen an ideal theme for their wedding – travel (she’s Polish-Canadian, he is Canadian, they grew up and met in Toronto, they got engaged in Prague and now live in Switzerland!) and decided on a trendy colour palette: creams, beiges, baby pink and minty green. ‘The devil is in the detail’, as they say, and every detail was taken care of…

Putting together an extremely busy wedding timeline was a real challenge. Because, how do you fit into one short evening: a wedding ceremony, photo session, video session, drinks, 4-course dinner, 6 speeches and 2 band performances…but we pulled if off and we did it in style!

And then there was nothing else left but to have fun. And FUN they had with the brilliant DJ Matt from Matt Remay Group, a photo booth and oh so popular selfie-stick, but mainly thanks to the amazing and unforgettable performance from the Krakow Street Band! It hurts me to admit it but they were Eva’s and Ian’s find and they delivered one of the best wedding performances I have ever had the pleasure to witness.

My personal highlights of this wedding were the entrance of the bride and groom – Eva and Ian picked a saxophone version of ‘No place I’d rather be’ by Clean Bandit, with the DJ playing a background beat and the sax (and a guitar) playing the melody line: a struggle to put together as there was no chance to rehearse and timing was so crucial. But it worked perfectly and judging by the reaction of the guests, it was a fantastic first appearance of the married couple.
The other moment was Eva’s speech and her very moving and personal appreciation of my work.

Let me now thank you for allowing me to be involved in this wonderful celebration and wish you all the love the world can give you!

Here’s to the happy couple!
