Corporate social responsibilities (CSR) goes beyond business as usual. This relatively new concept encourages companies to not only focus on maximizing their profits, but also on voluntary support for pro-social and pro-ecological activities.
There is no planet B for the next generation while the Earth and society is slowly plundered. Therefore, CSR gives you the tools to utilise your resources to improve people’s living conditions, act ethically and use natural resources in a sustainable way. Companies might take ambitious actions, such as switching to renewable energy sources, but also small and significant initiatives, such as implementing recycling procedures in the office, choose a fair trade supplier or introduce volunteering programs for their workers. Each CSR’s idea is a business’ response on the challenges of the contemporary world.
It is obvious that such a commitment is well perceived by all stakeholders and enhances a company’s brand. While business does good for others, at the same time, they create a positive working environment, increase sales and attract top talent.
There are many ways as to how a company could engage itself in making the world better. I’m offering you my support in team building events where your colleagues would take a part in a volunteering initiative instead of going bowling again. Painting the walls in a nursing home, taking blind people to the philharmonic, preparing new shelters for animals or planting trees all embody the core ethos of CSR. Believe me that there is no better way to tighten the bond between colleagues than connecting them together for a great cause.
